Apple asked me if I could present a presenation on how Xsan was used during the last two years of ITV's successful coverage of the Tour de France. I was obviously glad to help and managed to negotiate some time off from my stand duties for Grass Valley who were employing me for the duration of the show. I was quite surprised as a good crowd turned out at 4pm to hear myself and three others talk about using all the Apple pro-apps in a sports environment. I was up first too which helped as I could sit back once I'd gone through my keynote slides and listen to the other presenters.

I think its amazing that the production company and I are now talking about the coverage for this summer having had two succesful years of using this new system. We will probably add another FCP suite to the shared storage setup as we will be expanding the coverage especially as this years start is in London.

I will post some more details about our setup here at a later date, but there is a good article from Apple HERE that was published shortly after the first years coverage.
