I've been working on the Tour de France every year since Bjarne Riss
won in 1996. I don't get to tour France though, I'm in the facility
comapny Molinare in London. However this year I managed to get to the finish as
the Tour held two stages in the UK. We all knew there were going to be lots of spectators, but the 4 million that turned out was fantastic. Our viewing figures have been tremendous too. Also new for this year, I've been cycling into work everyday and yes there is some lycra, so are lucky I haven't posted a picture! Here are some pictures below that I took on my new Canon 400D. Use the left and right buttons when hovering over the picture to navigate, click the lightbulb to enlarge.
Now, if you live within the UK you can actually watch all our programmes online here Its a shame, but do to rights issues the shows have to be geo-restricted. All is not lost though as you can subscribe to the daily podcast via iTunes or via the link above to the ITV website. We have been trying daily to refesh the graphic that is cached within iTunes, so we do know! The podcast has also reached number three in the UK itunes podcast chart beating big BBC radio productions like Russel Blands show.
You might have heard about our pioneering use of FCP in a live sporting environment as the story is now three years old. If you haven't, take a look at the article Apple wrote about how we cover the Tour. I will write up some more details as the Tour progresses. Comments (0)
