Ever since Steve Jobs came back from NeXT, I've always wanted to go to one of his keynote speeches. I had the opportunity or indeed excuse as I now write and sell software. So it was off to San Francisco for the Apple World Wide Developers Conference at Moscone West.

The Keynote started at 10:00 AM but seeing as there were people queuing at the Moscone the night before, I thought I'd get there early. I thought 5:30 would be enough, wrong! The queue was already down one side of the building and halfway round the other. I got on the phone to Niclas & Gabe from Noise Industries and said they had better get here quick as the line was growing rapidly. To his credit, Niclas turned up with a Starbucks thus buying him & the team an instant place in the queue.



To say a bit of queue jumping went on would be an huge underestimate. So when we decided to jump a few hundred places whilst everybody was eating breakfast I didn't feel guilty. That plus an inspired piece of musical chairs by Gabe in the hall got us into row 9. There we sat for the next hour and a half or so for the keynote. Mr Jobs palmed most of the hard work onto the iphone guys and I have to say I was slightly disappointed no new hardware emerged out of dry ice on stage.

Then followed on all the sessions which were excellent. I'd love to say more, but apart from the Keynote, all information from WWDC is confidential. Lets just say there is a new cat in the house!

Was it worth it, you bet. Will I go again, definately.
